Harold Forsyth and I had a great morning and early afternoon birding along the fundy shore today. I used Blake Maybank's website to get an idea of the best sites. We started at the Bridgetown sewage treatment lagoons where we were able to see: bufflehead ducks (~25) ringneck ducks (~15) black ducks (5) black scoters (6) green wing teal (1) Then to the shore, from Hampton along to Margaretsville we saw: lots of surf scoters lots of white wing scoters black scoters (6) red throated loons (~10) common loon (1) red necked grebes (3) eiders ( ~30) long tailed duck (10 +) harlequin ducks (16) alcid species (6) comorants in flight (100+) purple sandpiper (12) gannets (~30) parasitic jaeger (2) many herring gulls fewer black backed gulls ring billed gull (1) black legged kittiwakes (~50) bald eagle (1) crows (lots) robins, bluejays, starlings, bl cap chickadees, boreal chickadee (heard), goldfinches, golden crowned kinglets, one pheasant and one song sparrow, the woods where we stopped didn't seem to have many birds. monarch butterfly (1) flying at Cottage Cove A pleasant day, some sun, some wind, some cloud, but never as unpleasant as it can be along the Fundy Shore in November!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ George E.
