Thanks to a tip from Gavin Charles, we got to see a Great Egret this morning
at Rainbow Haven. At first it was roosting in the trees between the parking
lot and the marshy area. Later it was in the small pond near the
intersection of Cow Bay and Bissett. Also at Rainbow Haven a flock of about
50 Snow Buntings, about 20 Lapland Longspurs, 2 dozen or so Green-winged
Teal and a single Greater Yellowlegs.

At Bissett Lake the American Coots and Ruddy Ducks were very close to shore.
There were also 2 male Northern Pintails near the park. On the other side of
the lake there was a small flock of Common Mergansers and down past the
Astral Drive school there was a flock of Lesser Scaup.

We had our first Fox Sparrow of the fall in our back yard yesterday and we
also saw two Coots by behind the Sackville Arena on First Lake Drive.
