A lady whose Greenwich Rd home backs onto that field said the geese began arriving almost daily soon after the corn was harvested. Judy Tufts >>>>>>>>>>> Judy Tufts Wolfville <<<<<<<<<<< _____ From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] On Behalf Of George Forsyth Sent: Sunday, November 05, 2006 10:49 PM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Cc: George Forsyth Subject: [NatureNS] barrows goldeneye This morning on the south pond of the Port Williams, Kings County sewer treatment ponds there was a single drake Barrows Goldeneye. While I was watching, some dogs arrived and barked at me, the bird flew to the river where I was able to find it again. The pond hosted 6 mallards and 4 green wing teal. In Greenwich there have been approximately 50 Canada geese that are feeding on a field opposite Noggins Corner Farm, the harvested corn field is nestled between two residential streets (Greenwich Rd. and Avon Ln.) I have never seen geese in this area before (forty years). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ George E.
