Be very careful if you try to approach it. That beak is a potentially =
lethal weapon, and they can move like lightening. I had a juvenile Great =
Blue Heron here several years ago that was very emaciated. I did a =
search on the internet trying to find out how to best care for it, and =
came across a report of a would-be rescuer who was killed when a heron =
stabbed her in the eye. No doubt it was just defending itself from =
perceived danger, but ever since reading that I have been extremely =
cautious around herons, gannets, bitterns and any other big, long beaked =
birds!
