The Monarch Watch website has a migration and tagging database. Enter
"Canada" as the country under "Tag/Tagger" information, and "Mexico" as
the country under "Recovery Information", and there will be records of
199 monarchs that have made the direct flight south. A couple from
Quebec, but most from Ontario.

Hi, Angus-
=20
This is news to me - I must be behind the times. I had always thought
that the Monarchs we are now seeing in such numbers were non-breeding
migrants, on their way to Mexico.
=20
Can you remember where you got this information? I'd be very interested
in finding out more.

Sandhills Park, and Port la Tour

	Hi Jim and all:
As I understand it current knowledge has it that "our" Monarchs
do not reach the Mexican mountains but actually fly a distance south
before laying eggs, etc. and their offspring continue the journey,
perhaps having to repeat the process before that line of Monarchs reach
their wintering grounds. Is this correct?
