Hi, all-

Today we had an albino Red Squirrel at our house. It was completely white, with reddish eyes - a very striking animal. It seemed a little unsure of itself; perhaps it was a young one. It was so conspicuous that I can't help thinking that albinism, at least outside the snow season, is a strong disadvantage when it comes to survival.

In about 25 years of living in the same location, with generations of Red Squirrels living out their lives around us, this is the first albino squirrel I have ever seen.
