I ran Breeding Bird Surveys at Larrys River, Guys. Co. and Roman
Valley, Guys. Co., about ten days later than usual, on July 27 & 28,
and in thick fog on the coastal route and land fog inland. Generally,
numbers of individuals were down significantly. However, there
were five and six Mourning Warblers, respectively, on the routes,
normal for Roman Valley, but up for Larrys River, the coastal route,
and I suspect availability of suitable habitat accounted for the
relatively high count on Larrys River.
