42 Utils
This page is dedicated to the small, free Windows 95 apps by
Michael Smith of R.A.M. Technology. The basic
philosophy is that stupid little programs should be free and small.
That means not using VB or MFC or OWL or MSVCRT or anything like them -- which
happens to fit with my other philosophy, of not paying for anything when
I can get better stuff for free.
Currently available 42 Utils:
- Start42, the Start Menu Randomizer.
Now, every time you boot up, you can have a different Start Menu label and
tooltip.
In development:
- Noise42, a random noise/music generator
- Track42, a digital multitracker and WAV/MIDI composer, mixer, editor,
sequencer, etc.
For developers:
- Tray42, a small systray demonstration
Demonstrates the use of the taskbar notification area in Windows 95 using
straight C. Also includes links to free C compilers and resources for Win95
development.
