For those Nova Scotians who believe that Cecil Clarke, the provincial energy minister, was wrong in making a deal over the 'air emissions' of sulphur dioxide with Nova Scotia Power, take heart, Premier Hamm will never let such a deal take place. After all, it was Premier Hamm who wrote the following in his overview of "Seizing the Opportunity", the provincial energy strategy document [vol 1, page 2]: "Our government will take firm actions to improve the quality of the province's environment by reducing air emissions and working closely with the federal government on climate change issues." Perhaps the Premier needs reminding of this. Larry.
