GLOBAL DAY OF ACTION FOR PEACE IN HALIFAX ON MAR. 20 The World Still Says No to War The World Has Not Forgotten The Occupation of Iraq is Illegal Stand Up for Civil Liberties Oppose the Weaponization of Sapce Saturday, March 20 Starting at 1:30 pm at the South Common (Bell Road) The Halifax Peace Coalition is organizing a peace march as part of the Global Day of Action on the first anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. Around the world peace and social justice groups hope to exceed the number of people who participated in the unprecedented Feb. 15, 2003 demonstrations. With the call launched at the World Social Forum in Mumbai, India, March 20 will truly be an international day of mobilization! \We will let our decision-makers know that citizens of the world oppose the illegal occupation of Iraq. We will let them know that we want Canada to preserve civil rights. We want a foreign and defense policy that builds true global human security. We oppose the weaponization of space and missile defense. With an election looming, our leaders need to hear a strong message of support for peace, democracy, social and environmental justice.
