CONNECTIONS Youth Gathering ...linking youth, communities, and the environment October 17-19, 2003 Camp Glenburn - Kingston, NB Hosted by the Youth Action Group ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FOR ALL THE INFO AND TO REGISTER ONLINE: http://www.nbenrenb.elements.nb.ca/connections.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT is Connections? Connections is a weekend gathering for youth, organized by youth. The weekend will be hands-on and will focus on sharing and skill-building. The 3 goals of the conference are to: -learn about current environmental and social justice issues -share skills, resources, strategies, and mistakes -build a stronger, happier, activist movement in the Maritimes. The theme of the conference is interdependence--- the many complex ways that individual, societal and ecological wellness are connected. By gathering together we realize how our own local concerns and campaigns are connected, and how we can work best to support each other. --> Why should I go? So you can: 1. Learn about... - environmental racism, - the impacts of biocides and toxins, - ecofeminism, - the deterioration of river and ocean ecosystems, - how our public forests are under threat. 2. Participate in workshops on.... - natural building techniques, - permaculture, - cooking with whole foods, - yoga, - media strategies, - activist theatre, - making biodiesel. 3. Connect with others, share stories, co-operate on broader campaigns, and have a blast! --> WHEN and WHERE is it? Connections is being held October 17-19, at the stunning lakeside Camp Glenburn, just outside of Saint John, NB. --> WHO can go? Any Maritime youth who wants to learn and share skills and experience is welcome. Who qualifies as youth? Anyone who feels youthful! --> HOW can I sign up? To register, and to check out a more information on speakers, directions and schedules go to: > http://www.nbenrenb.elements.nb.ca/connections.htm --> How MUCH will this set me back?
