We accomplish this in a number of ways including co-hosting guided walks and engaging people in active stewardship through monitoring. Three guided walks (listed above) are scheduled for the month of August. Each walk will be followed by a short monitoring session for those interested in becoming involved in the monitoring Atlantic Coastal Plain Flora. As part of the monitoring program, monitors survey sites, once or twice during the flowering season, where rare species occur and report on the health of the sites. Being a monitor means that you are provided with hands-on training and a variety of support materials, including maps, photos of plants, and an identification booklet. Attending the guided walks or becoming involved as a monitor are both wonderful ways to enjoy a few hours of Nova Scotia's natural wonders. Walks are informational and packed with photo-opps. Please feel free to give us a call to find out more or to register for a walk or monitoring session or both! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Meredith Flannery Coastal Plain Stewards Coordinator Nova Scotia Nature Trust Mailing Address: PO Box 2202, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3J 3C4 Street Address: 1657 Barrington St., Roy Building, Suite 412, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3J 2A1 Phone: (902) 425-5263 Fax: (902) 429-5263 Website: www.nsnt.ca ____________________________________________________________________________ Did a friend forwarded this to you?
