Subject:	New CEC Report on access to environmental information in North
America

To the Canadian Environmental Network:

Please find attached a report just released by the North American Commission
for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) on access to environmental information
in North America. The report will soon be posted in English, French and
Spanish on the CEC website (www.cec.org) and is also available in print form
from the CEC Secretariat in Montreal (info@ccemtl.org).

The report seeks to provide readers with an overview of ways to obtain
government-held environmental information, focusing on access to information
legislation but also covering access-to-information rights under
environmental legislation.

We hope this report will be of interest to members of the Canadian
Environmental Network. For background information on the report, please do
not hesitate to contact the undersigned at (514) 350-4337.

Best regards,

Katia Opalka, Legal Officer
