Tatamagouche Centre presents: Plant Medicine for Health and Healing June 21-23, Fri. 7 pm - Sun. 1 pm In the western world, we are experiencing a renewed interest in partnering with plants for health and well being. This workshop provides an opportunity to get to know local wild medicinal plants and to learn more about their healing gifts. Participants will identify plants during weed walks and discuss how these plants are important as both food and medicine. Participants will learn to gather plants respectfully in the wild using the practice of ethical wild crafting. Basic herbal preparations for home use, such as infused oils, ointments, tinctures and vinegars, will be made during practical hands-on sessions. Plant meditations will help us to connect with the plant spirits and experience the depth of the healing energy offered by nature. This workshop will interest those who are beginning to explore their interest in herbs for healing as well as to those who already have knowledge in this area and wish to gain some hands-on experience. Leadership: Danette Steele has been integrating the practice of herbal medicine into her life since 1988. Danette also has many years of experience as a facilitator on issues of health and the environment. Trudy Watts, PRG. Cost: $245 includes tuition, room and board.
