The South Shore Pesticide Reduction Action Group (SSPRAG) is a registered not-for-profit society, formed in February 2000 to raise awareness of the dangers of pesticides used for cosmetic purposes. We believe that everyone has the right to live, work and travel in communities free from harmful chemical pesticides. To that end, we encourage individuals, organizations, businesses, governments and others in the counties of Lunenburg and Queens to eliminate pesticides from their properties and communities, and adopt more healthful practices of lawn, garden and property care. SSPRAG's mandate is supported by the Nova Scotia College of Family Physicians, the Medical Society of Nova Scotia, the Chief Medical Officers for the Western and Central Regional Health Boards, and the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment. We welcome members from across Nova Scotia. Membership is $10 per year per family. This fee goes directly to covering our administrative and materials costs, photocopying, postage and other expenses; all our work is done by volunteers. For more information about SSPRAG, or to join, please contact us at the numbers below. Cheers!
