Community groups interested in strategic planning and evaluation may want to check out two new on-line toolkits, available at http://www.wvda.com The Western Valley Development Authority, a non-profit group serving Annapolis and Digby counties, has designed a Community Consultation Tool Kit based on the WVDA's recent experience with "Vision 2000", a large-scale community visioning process conducted throughout the Western Valley in 1999. The tool kit leads the user through the steps needed to complete an effective community plan, and provides some practical tips, based on the WVDA experience. The Evaluation Tool Kit provides guidance to community groups interested in implementing an organisational evaluation process. This tool kit guides users through the process of evaluating the strengths of their organisation. Again this is based on the WVDA's recent experience of completing an organisational evaluation. Both toolkits were written by Lillian Stewart, with help from web designers Elizabeth Stanick, Sonda Mutch and Chris Wood. The tool kits were compiled under financial assistance from Human Resources Development Canada, the Community Economic Development Technical Assistance Program (CEDTAP), and the Nova Scotia Co-operation Agreement on Economic Diversification. They are available on the WVDA's web site www.wvda.com under "toolkits". -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- The preceding message was posted on Sustainable Maritimes (sust-mar) -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- A word from our lawyers ... Don't forget ... COPYRIGHT material, such as newspaper/magazine articles cannot be posted on sust-mar without the owner's permission. It's against the law. CROSS-POSTINGS (messages from other lists) are also discouraged. In either case, why not tell us something about the issue in your own words? Or ... send a clipping along with the URL where the original can be found, or directions how to join the list it came from? Takes a few more minutes, but makes for a more interesting sust-mar ... :)
