Index of Subjects Youth Action: Promoting Positive Change: Join the PEI Eco-Net and young people from across the Atlantic provinces to discuss the environmental, health and social issues that matter to YOU! From September 22 - 24, 2000, young people will gather with local, national and international resource people at Camp Buchan in Point Prim, PEI to discuss: * Sustainable Forestry (Mauricio Vasquez, a biologist from El Salvador who works with the Rio Lempa Foundation on protected management areas and Gary Schneider of the Macphail Woods Ecological Forestry Project on PEI) *Climate Change (David MacKay, project manager for Transportation Initiative to Reduce Emissions and Arciris Garay, Climate Action Network representative and youth activist) *Pesticides and Health (Sharon Labchuk, Island environmentalist , activist and founder of Earth Action) *Critical Consumerism (Leo Cheverie, President of the PEI Federation of Labour) *GE Foods and Biotechnology (Aaron Koleszar , campaign coordinator for Earth Action) *Petroleum Exploration in East Coast Waters (Irene Novaczek, Marine Biologist and Save Our Seas and Shores Representative) Registration is $20 and includes all meals (prepared with all-organic ingredients) and accommodations (camping or bunk - first come, first serve). Participants are responsible for bringing all camping gear and sleeping bags. Travel subsidies are available. Please register by September 15, 2000.
