Hi David,  

I hadn't taken offense, I was indicating that I wasn't defending my own
work, so there isn't a personal stake in it.

I agree with most of your response, but you still have the problem that
rightly or wrongly many legitimate environmentalists (including some who
called the WWF position shots) either accept that things like Sable are
going to happen and strive, to the best of their ability and strategic
know how, to minimize impacts, or believe that Sable is a better
alternative to other option (eg coal?), and again strive to minimize
impacts.

Most of us (environmentalists) also contribute to the need for such
projects by continuing to use resources at a greater than sustainable
level (even if we are lower than most other 'northerners').

In this I agree with your integrated approach, but its far beyond fighting
issues, it's changing approaches...  changing society.
