Hi Andrew, It is somewhat unusual to require/want to edit a list archive... and it is also 'non-trivial', requiring quite a bit of care if it is to be achieved without breaking the archive structure. Tony managed it but I would be hesitant to turn that feature over to someone who doesn't show a lot of interest in the details... The general editing of archives was never supported because with respect to many archive requirements, editing breaks the integrety... As well, most of the need for editing can be eliminated by an appropriate list management (approval/authorization) strategy. I'll contact coral@is.ca to confirm what other list options they want and see if they really need/are confident that they can manage an 'edit-archive' feature. david potter On Thu, 21 Sep 2000, Andrew D.
