Hello.

Well, I am very glad to have feedback and suggestions, and by and large
completely agree with both Mr. Potter and Ms. Olmstead, but I do disagree
with some of the points they made. I humbly suggest that in my experience
surveys, not matter what the incentive, are more likely to a) be responded
to and b) be responded to accurately and truthfully if they are short. Just
offering a prize or incentive, while it may encourage people to fill the
form out, does not necessarily encourage them to provide accurate data. If
they are not truthful (i.e., they get half way through and decide to pick
random answers) then the entire process is futile.
Secondly, part two sub three of Mr. Potter's e-mail suggests an
other/explain style question. While I completely agree this would be a
valuable source of information, it seemed in discussions on the subject to
be to vast to use. If we would like such a question, I think it can be
added, but I'll have to check with the person who wrote the script.
Lastly, I will be posting a mail this afternoon once I have made a series
of revisions based on these suggestions and the site has been updated. I
believe I will be attending at least part of the board meeting this evening,
so if there are more concerns we can discuss them. If there are any other
questions or comments before then, I would be more the happy to help as best
I can. Cheers
jec

PS:
In response to Mr. McCann's e-mail I was unaware anyone other then Sue
Newhook had been involved in this project. all of the questions, were, in my
opinion, related to gaining information about our users. While not
necessarily all perfectly related, it is useful to know how old our users
are (e.g., if they are mostly over 65 they probably don't read the Coast and
advertising promotions there would be wasted) and as for computer speed, Mr.
Potter suggested a burner for a prize, which is something we originally
thought of, but if the bulk of our users are still on 3x86s then that would
not be much of a prize as they would have no use for it, not would they
likely be interested in promotions relating to high end products. I do
welcome any suggestions and advice you or anyone may have, I just wanted to
justify why I chose what I did initially. Perhaps the updated survey will be
better. Thanks very much
