Long description of testing mail list activity with problems encountered.

1. IP application for 'support' (ip-1002) created list in 
landon:/home/csuite/etc/majordomo/lists 
landon:/home/csuite/etc/majordomo/lists# ls -l support*

2. automatic mail sent to user custom
a.
Subject: TCSDS IP Application for support
IP application acknowledgement

acknowledgement of subscription to 'support' mail list

3. automatic mail sent to ip-admin@landon aliased to user csuite
a.
Subject: IP request: support
with submissions date, contact info and database information
b. 
Subject: Majordomo results
automated approval by user csuite of subscribe to list 'support' for user
custom (>>>> approve password_goes_here subscribe support custom
Succeeded.)

4. 
a. from landon user junior subscribes to support by sending mail to majordomo
with: 
subscribe support junior
end
in message body
b. Subject: Majordomo results
user junior successfully subscribed to list
PROBLEM 1  user junior not added to list support

5. sent test message from user junior to list support@landon.chebucto.ns.ca
user junior still waiting to hear back. see PROBLEM 1

6. locally added junior to list support

7. repeated step 5.
all subscribed to list 'support' still waiting for mail from junior.

Checked router log at CS_ROOT/log/mail/router and found this as initial 
entry :

mv: /home/csuite/etc/mail/db/aliases.idx: No such file or directory

start newfqdnaliases... 1 aliases, longest 42 bytes, 42 bytes total
mv: /home/csuite/etc/mail/db/fqdnaliases.dat: No such file or directory
mv: /home/csuite/etc/mail/db/fqdnaliases.idx: No such file or directory

b. checked scheduler log
scheduler: scheduler daemon (2.99.46 #1: Sun Apr 13 13:48:11 ADT 1997)
        pid 23312 started at Sun, 13 Apr 1997 14:54:16 -0300

Sent mail again to support and then checked all files on system that had 
been touched since mail was sent. These included
./home/csuite/etc/mail/forms/delivery
./home/csuite/etc/mail/bin/ta/mailbox
./home/csuite/etc/mail/bin/sendmail
./home/csuite/etc/zmailer.conf
but no other obvious mail related ones.
