There was one item that was time critical. That was the status of beta 1, and it's availability. That was holding me up. I have downloaded the pre-beta 1 that you made for me and did sh csbuild. It got a checksum error while unpacking one tarball, and the build failed almost right away. I haven't had a chance to investigate the failures. It will probably be a couple of days before I can do so. } > with Gary. I have joined csuite-dev. We would certainly be } receptive to doing so if we have a network-accessable machine } with root access so we can run remote diagnostics and fix things. I will see about doing this. The machine is not currently operational (dead fan in power supply and hooped SCSI bus), but I just about have the hardware repairs done. Then, I will have to work on the OS change. This will probably be after I get our new server running. } Why do you like NIS+? It's not so much that I like NIS+ (which is quite complex); but, rather that with the size of our passwd file (18.5K+), it must be stored in a database, and NIS+ is all that Sun supports. If you have other suggestions, I would be willing to look at them. }-- End of excerpt from David Trueman
