Hi, Robert:

I had not realized how far along the french version of Chebucto was,
until the recent announcement. Great news!

I often demonstrate Chebucto to potential new users. After logging in to
my own account, and showing people some of the features, I usually show
them that they can log in as 'guest' even if they do not yet have an
account of their own.

Earlier today, I was asked if it is possible to log in as 'guest' and see
the french version. I did not think it was possible, but we tried it. To
my surprise, what we got was a mixture - we were given the MOTD (Message
of the Day) in french, followed by the Chebucto Home Page in english - a
bit confusing! Is this intentional, or just a minor mistake somewhere?
This is reproducible, it happens each time you log in as 'guest'. If you
later type 'gmotd', you always see the english version.

After thinking it over, I thought it would that be a nice feature if we
could we offer a choice of English/French when logging in as 'guest'. It
would be very attractive to be able to offer potential new Chebucto users
access either the French or English version.

I cannot speak French at all, but I used to be able to read it fairly
well, perhaps I will now have the opportunity to improve my reading,
right here on Chebucto!
