Forgive me for jumping in on this, but I have watched the whole
discussion about zmodem problems with some interest. I connect up to CCN
with TeraTerm V1.3 which supports kermit and zmodem and which can free
dial on its own or be used to telnet with Slip/PPP. I sometimes connect
up one way and sometimes the other and always use zmodem to download. I
know conventional thinking is that you cannot use zmodem with telnet, but
I do so regularly without ever having had any problems.

I hope this information is of some use.
