Sunday, 6 August 2006...and directly went ashore to enjoy the white sand beach. A second cooking fire was built after a serious misjudgment about the eventual height of the tide. This made for a late but delicious shore dinner. Back on the vessel after cleaning up and preparing for serious evening business at the cabin table, we were startled by such a thump and clatter that we rose to see what was the matter (expletives deleted). When Ed threw the hatch open to investigate, a Great Blue Heron that had landed on top of the foremast plucked another note on the triatic stay as it departed in a flap. |
