The original Berdyaev List Discussion Group formerly on Yahoo was founded by Fr. S. Janos in April 1999 to serve as a focal point and open Forum in all aspects of N.A. Berdyaev (Berdiaev) thought, and those thinkers and issues relative to him -- Russian Studies, Religion, Philosophy, Socio-Political Theory, etc.

Furthermore it was intended to be a vehicle for co-ordinating information on Berdyaev Resources, to assist in securing textual materials, promote translation efforts and Berdyaev Research and furtherance of Study, whilst maintaining fidelity to the tradition of Russian Religio-Philosophic Thought.

This new Berdyaev Discussion Group offers a continuation of that group, and to further engage in the important common task of sharing and preserving the profound insights of N.A. Berdyaev, as well as the works of the many little-known members of his Russian emigre generation.
