Index of Subjects Hi Burkhard & All, I can't furnish a clear answer beyond observing that some very large Beech in Kentville got me curious because they had no hint of canker. So I asked a neighbor with previous connections in the nursery business and borrowed a book--- Taylors guide to trees. They list F. grandifolia, F. sylvatica (European Beech with many horticultural forms ) F. sylvatica pendula {weeping} and sylvatica Riversii\ deep purple foliage. All Latin to me.
