The topic is Wetlands by Emma Bocking. Wetlands in Nova Scotia are diverse, and include swamps, saltmarshes to vernal pools. They are key habitats for many bird species at all stages of their lifecycle. Learn about why wetlands are important, and how restoration and education play a role in protecting these valuable landscapes for wildlife and people. Emma Bocking is a Conservation Program Specialist with Ducks Unlimited Canada in their Halifax office. Before moving to Halifax in 2018, Emma worked for DUC in Newfoundland and Labrador for three years, where she saw her first puffin, gannet and common eider while out exploring the rocky shoreline. She=E2=80=99s very keen on wetland= plants and has a lifelong dream of becoming a sedge identification expert. Our talks are open and free to members and the public. Light refreshments will be available. All are welcome. --000000000000086404059cc181bb Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr"><div dir=3D"ltr"><p style=3D"margin:0px 0px 6px;font-famil= y:system-ui,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,".SFNSText-Regular",= sans-serif;color:rgb(29,33,41);font-size:14px">A reminder that the NSBS Soc= iety Members meeting will take place tomorrow, January 23rd 7:30 PM at the = Nova Scotia Museum.
