Hi All,

Despite continuing strong winds, the pace of migration picked up during the
last week of April. The largest movement of the week was the night of 25-26
April when near calm winds (< 10 km/hr) persisted throughout the night. An
estimated 34 birds were recorded of which two-thirds were White-throated
Sparrows. This species was by far the most common migrant during the week
with an estimated 36 birds. The second most common bird of the week was
Savannah Sparrow (13 estimated birds). The only other sparrow recorded was
one Swamp Sparrow. Small numbers of Palm Warblers and Yellow-rumped Warblers
were also detected. The first Greater Yellowlegs were noted on the night
beginning on 30 April.

More details can be found on eBird (use explore species maps) and on my
website <https://johnfkearney.com/category/nocturnal-migration-journal/> .

John
