I had two Caspian terns today at Sand Dollar Beach in Lower Rose Bay. I al=
so saw an osprey at Kingsburg and a red-necked grebe. I had a large sparro=
w with white to either side of the tail at Sand Dollar Beach also. It was =
clearly obvious in flight and this bird was traveling with Savannah Sparrow=
s. I believe it was a vesper sparrow. I did not recognize the call though=
so cannot rule out Lapland longspur for the bird as they also have white o=
n the outer tail feathers. It flew around me a number of times when I was =
pishing and almost landed, but then flew off. I had seen it a number of ti=
mes previous also. It acted more like a sparrow rather than a longspur.
