    This will come to light eventually but it seems possible (seat of pants analysis) that the deep snow in East Greenland was a consequence of consistent trends; more open sea water earlier in the year so that the arctic becomes less like a desert.

    There is a rather negative article about climate change in the July issue of National Geographic; no political will to act. The biblical-- "when a lion is in the streets the fool foldeth his hands" or words to that effect comes to mind. A bit of honesty in some quarters would do wonders I think. With climate change deniers first in line.

This is an interesting report on excessive, unusual snow depth in NE Greenland, believed to have prevented all Shorebird breeding for this year. Climate Change does not only result in warmer temperatures, but also increased variability.
