Plant cover and the associated fauna can at least potentially=20 adapt to consistent trends but erratic weather is a greater threat. Wild=20 bees in the Kentville area will take years to recover from the last=20 winter and cool spring. This will come to light eventually but it seems possible (seat of=20 pants analysis) that the deep snow in East Greenland was a consequence=20 of consistent trends; more open sea water earlier in the year so that=20 the arctic becomes less like a desert. There is a rather negative article about climate change in the July=20 issue of National Geographic; no political will to act. The biblical--=20 "when a lion is in the streets the fool foldeth his hands" or words to=20 that effect comes to mind. A bit of honesty in some quarters would do=20 wonders I think. With climate change deniers first in line. I just noticed that I am straying from natural history and into=20 politics. The devil made me do it.
