o:nancypdowd@gmail.com" target=3D"_blank">n Actually I do find eBird wonderful when it comes to recordings. Once you add them a clear spectrogram is generated, a unique feature in my view. Most audio apps do not generate a good spectrogram- probably b/c bird songs and calls are not the most recorded items in the world of sound. If one has the Peterson Guide to Bird Sounds of NA, the illustrated spectrograms in taxonomic order are then a good reference. This book was reviewed by John Kearney long ago and bought and much liked by me shortly afterwards. I don't get outside everyday and so I quite like your e-mails with recordings! Keep them coming Nancy, it's marvelous we're all able to share in your recordings so easily! The first part doesn't vary and seems fine for Junco. But I think the second part is somewhat unique and he varies it also. Note that the second part goes from 4 chips, 5, 6, and then 7, before he drops back to 5. He's really mixing it up here. The song/call listed under Passerine spp at the bottom of the list is one I would like your thoughts on. (Or use the MacCauley link provided.) This is a lake unsuited for motorized boats, canoes and kayaks only. It is in an isolated area. Only two dwellings on the lake, both absent until July and very appreciative of the outdoors- that is why they have places here. >> >> Nancy >> >> >> >> >
