A drizzly, windy eight degrees last night. As I was entering the house, I
felt something on my face. Checked in the mirror and found an all-dark
little guy crawling up. Walked under a pine tree on the way in, and am not
sure if that is how he/she/it found me. I was not wandering in any long
grass.

A colleague in Carleton mentioned that she has been taking black-legged
ticks off her cat for some time.

Watch it, out there. Most of them may be only annoying pests, but some
carry more serious consequences.
