I've been meaning to post about this for awhile now. For the past
several weeks. I've been seeing a lone Turkey Vulture from time to
time -- usually flying low in front of my property near the bridge
over Round Hill Brook. In summer, there are several that fly together
over Round Hill Lane (there is a poultry farm out on the Pr=E9 Rond) and
often drift down toward Bishop Park. The rest must have moved on for
the winter, but this one stayed behind -- perhaps unwilling or unable
to fly far. Yesterday, I was reminded that it was still around when I
saw it flying on the east side of the brook, out of the trees and over
201, being fiercely pursued by a Crow. I wasn't sure if it would
find enough to eat to survive the winter, but it must be finding some
sustenance in the area.
