--_000_BN3PR03MB2276ABA1A1DB3D04FF0162EFBC8E0BN3PR03MB2276namp_ Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable While doing a shorebird survey at the far end of the flats, at the edge of = the water, I spotted what appeared to be an all-white medium-sized shorebir= d feeding in an erratic fashion. On closer look the bird was indeed white o= n head, neck, and below, with a white supercilium; legs were yellowish oran= ge; bill thin and black, some darkish colour on back and scaps. The most in= teresting was its method of feeding, new to me. It appeared to be feeding = in circles but was in fact feeding in a crouching position, with head down = and rear up, pecking rapidly, and moving about erratically. I presume it wa= s in juvenile or winter plumage. Unfortunately no photo and as I reached for my notebook it flew off and I c= ould not find it again. Sylvia Fullerton Broad Cove, Lun.
