Thank you both. I see I will be better off collecting maple seeds this Fall.=
 My mother sweeps buckets  of Red Maple seeds off her driveway in Bridgewate=
r so I have an easy source. At the moment she is taking her broom to the pil=
es of red flowers from these trees. For some reason the dog finds them irres=
istable treats. Nectar?
