Our males are still visiting the feeder, south of Yarmouth. Expect to see
the ma's and the kids later in the month.

Eleanor

Are there still significant numbers of males around? I have noted, in other
years, their relative decrease about this time of year... although that
wouldn't account for reduced activity at your feeder

Eleanor,
Every year, we note that there is lull period in the feeding by
hummingbirds during the summer. I am not sure what is happening but maybe
has to do with the nesting and breeding. Later in the summer when the young
are out of the nest, the comsumption of sugar increases dramatically.
