But speed signs carry a specific penalty that everyone = knows about and they break the rules at their own peril. Without a = specific warning sign at the sensitive beaches, a lot of people may not = know they are breaking the rules and are subject to a fine. However, if = informed "formally" by a sign posting, they will then have no excuse = for letting there dogs of leash. I believe it would be a great = deterrent if the sign obviously requests the public to report offenders = by providing the phone number on the sign. Offenders knowing that = anybody on the beach with a cell phone could report them and that they = would be subject to a fine should be enough to gain better compliance.=20 Paul Murray=20 Dartmouth=20 ------=_NextPart_000_009C_01D19706.D21CDD40 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <HTML xmlns=3D"http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3DUTF-8" http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <STYLE type=3Dtext/css><!-- P {margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0;} --></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY dir=3Dltr> <DIV dir=3Dltr> <DIV style=3D"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Calibri'; COLOR: #000000"> <DIV>I once confronted a woman whose dog was off-leash and chasing = peeps. =20 I said, =E2=80=9CYou know that your dog should be on a = leash.=E2=80=9D She told me to =E2=80=98F.=20 off=E2=80=99 and then informed me that =E2=80=98Conrad=E2=80=99s is an = off leash beach=E2=80=99.
