I probably = witnessed a die-off a couple of years ago on my way home from Arizona. = In western Oklahoma, I stayed at a motel and then stopped at a nearby = Walmart the next morning. There were dead starlings all over the ground = under every small ornamental tree planted around the perimeter of the = parking lot. I guess the poisoned birds flew to the trees to perch for = the night (they were some of the only trees in the vicinity), then = succumbed to poison and fell out of the trees onto the pavement. A work = crew was busy tossing them into a truck to haul away.
