North of Ingonish, the park boundary is about 2 miles = inland but takes a sharp turn east to include Middle Head and then = almost at once turns west (based on my 1939 map).=20 The "carved out of one of Canada's most pristine wildernesses." is = just hype along the lines of the movie adds which say "uncut, unchanged, = better than ever before". The golf course area was perhaps fairly pristine wilderness 300 = years ago but most of it was probably someone's cow pasture when the = lands were seized for the park and none of the golf course is more than = 1/4 mile from a paved road. Also there is an old road, still passable by = car in the 50's with care, just inland from Middle Head which runs up = the Clyburn about 2 miles.=20 =20 Yt, Dave Webster, Kentville =20 ----- Original Message -----=20 From: N Robinson=20 To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca=20 Sent: Sunday, February 07, 2016 10:41 AM Subject: Re: [NatureNS] re no-go! for Never Forgotten Mother Canada = Memorial Great videos, but too short. =20 I was shocked to find we have a golf course in a national park, in = Cape Breton, "carved out of one of Canada"s most pristine wildernesses" = ...!
