Kathleen MacAulay=2C Jon Ruddy a= nd I will be studying Red-tailed Hawk photos from Nova Scotia to see when a= nd where we are getting birds from populations other than the Eastern Red-t= ailed Hawk. I will be accepting any Red-tailed Hawk photos (recent or old=2C but the fo= cus will be on photos within the last year) captured in Nova Scotia through= my e-mail address alixdentremont@hotmail.com. To keep things organized=2C = could you please enter "Red-tailed Hawk Photo Study" as the subject for the= e-mail. It is also important to provide the date and location for all phot= os. Please also send photos from the upcoming winter 2015/2016 season. I wi= ll send out another e-mail once we are satisfied that we have enough submis= sions. We will sort through the photos and assign them to a subspecies based on ap= pearance. It will also be extremely useful to provide us with multiple angl= es of the same bird if possible. Upperside (perched bird facing away=2C bir= d in a banking flight) and underside (perched bird facing the camera or the= underside of a flying bird) photos would be great. If you've already poste= d your photos to the Nova Scotia Bird Society Facebook Page=2C then there i= s no need to send those to me=2C I have already stored them. Here are some O= nline references for those looking for more information on this subject and= specifically on the Northern Red-tailed Hawk (B. j. abieticola): https://n= orthernredtails.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/rth_aabieticiola_north_american= _birds_march_2014.pdfhttp://ebird.org/content/canada/news/identifying-north= ern-red-tailed-hawks/http://jonruddy.blogspot.ca/2014/02/northern-red-taile= d-hawk-identification.htmlhttp://www.jeaniron.ca/2010/redtailsRF.pdfhttps:/= /northernredtails.wordpress.com/ --- =20 Alix Arthur d'Entremont BSc Geomatics Engineering 292 Abbott's Harbour RoadMiddle West PubnicoYarmouth Co.=2C Nova ScotiaCana= da B0W 2M0 Phone: +1 902 762 2082Mobile: +1 902 307 0373 =0A= e-mail: alixdentremont@hotmail.com =0A= Bird Photography http://www.flickr.com/photos/alixd/Website http://alixdent= remont.blogspot.ca/=0A= = --_9ff0d2a1-a715-48cf-8f0c-40010a124d92_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html> <head> </head> <body class=3D'hmmessage'><div dir=3D'ltr'>=0A= =0A= <style><!--=0A= .hmmessage P=0A= {=0A= margin:0px=3B=0A= padding:0px=0A= }=0A= body.hmmessage=0A= {=0A= font-size: 12pt=3B=0A= font-family:Calibri=0A= }=0A= --></style>=0A= <div dir=3D"ltr"><div dir=3D"ltr" style=3D"line-height: 22.72px=3B font-fam= ily: HelveticaNeue=2C 'Helvetica Neue'=2C Helvetica=2C Arial=2C 'Lucida Gra= nde'=2C sans-serif=3B background-color: rgb(255=2C 255=2C 255)=3B"><span st= yle=3D"color: rgb(20=2C 24=2C 35)=3B font-family: helvetica=2C arial=2C san= s-serif=3B font-size: 14px=3B line-height: 19.32px=3B">The typical subspeci= es of Red-tailed Hawk encountered in Nova Scotia is the Eastern Red-tailed = Hawk (<em style=3D"line-height: 19.88px=3B">B. j. borealis</em>).
