Some naturalists know it as having the largest remnant conife= r stand in the N. End, and a nice group of deciduous trees along the n.e. s= lope, etc. It is also an good area for birds, especially in winter. But I = don't know if plant surveys, formal or casual, have been done. Many, many y= ears ago there was a tiny patch of "Mayflowr" (Epigaea repens) in the n.w. = corner, but it's probably gone now. Although the plans as we've seen them (NSBS and EAC Bird Conservation Commi= ttee) don't seem threatening, we would like to have ASAP any data or impres= sions by others on the natural (ecological) values of the place, especially= the plants including unusual trees. Please send any such info to me ASAP. All the best, Ian Ian McLaren --_000_BLUPR03MB583EF5E9C0783C0B0A61E53CD250BLUPR03MB583namprd_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html> <head> <meta http-equiv=3D"Content-Type" content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-= 1"> <style type=3D"text/css" style=3D"display:none;"><!-- P {margin-top:0;margi= n-bottom:0;} --></style> </head> <body dir=3D"ltr"> <div id=3D"divtagdefaultwrapper" style=3D"font-size:14pt;color:#000000;back= ground-color:#FFFFFF;font-family:Calibri,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> <p>All:</p> <p><br> </p> <p>Some may have heard about plans to develop Nerdham Park in penimsular Ha= lifax North End , mostly to upgrade the Halifax Explosion mo= nument and enhance viewplanes.
