Hi all, Watched a MoDo today at the Halifax Infirmary on a nest and am guessing/assuming it was laying eggs. It had it's tail at about 11'oclock in the air, was flicking it's wings and emitting a single coo every 30~ seconds. The mate came by and perched quite close by protecting it's mate/warning me off. Couldn't find very much online/Youtube about the actual laying, but can't think of any other reason for this behavior. As a side note, sorry to hear the sad news of Blake's passing. He was a central figure in our birding community. Gary Murray Tucker Lake NS
