A good choice because soil = below a large rock or other impermeable material may remain dry even = when surface soil is saturated. At about 10:00 am today there were five = grounded near the hole waiting to get warm enough to fly. The Hieracium pilosella (Mouse-ear Hawkweed) has been in bloom for = some time but I observed significant feeding activity today for the = first time (too cold or windy when I l;ooked previously perhaps); two = species of wild bee loaded with pollen and going for more. Yt, Dave Webster, Kentville ------=_NextPart_000_0277_01D0B58D.F0704490 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META name=3DGENERATOR content=3D"MSHTML 8.00.6001.23588"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <DIV>Dear All, =20 = =20 July 3, 2015</DIV> <DIV> Further to my e-mail of June 14, when I said = that the=20 Bee (Andrena crataegi) entry hole was about 1 dm from the rock, = subsequent rains=20 have flushed the rock bare of soil to reveal that the entry hole is at = the very=20 edge of the rock; a fair slab of slate.
