Agreed, aside form the scary precedent this thing may set for future manage=
ment of national parks.

I agree with your point that the decision of how to engage this offer shoul=
d be down to the local community. Draw a 10km radius around the site then h=
old a plebiscite. There would have to be a 66% approval for the project to =
go ahead based only on the vote from this 10 km radius area. 
Then, if they are in favour of such an installation, let them democraticall=
y vote on it. 
It is none of our business what they decide in my estimation.

minaries, and remain appalled at the proposal that this be built in a natio=
nal park, the main objectives of which should be to preserve and protect na=
ture, and educate the public  therein.

The most constructive suggestion I have heard so far is that this thing be =
built north of the park, where the economy is struggling even more.
