Subject: [NatureNS] Lingering Snow in June

I have been watching with interest the gradual shrinking of a snow bank on the edge of Bedford. It was formed by clearing a large parking lot across from Clearwater Lobsters. At one point this winter a backhoe was brought in to compact the snow, and then pile more on top. It must have been more than 20 feet high in March. It's down to just a couple of feet now, an icy crust in a ditch below some steep shady woods. It is also partly obscured by crusher dust.

I'm waiting to see if it will hang on till the first day of summer.
