As one example of this, in the early 50's, Elodea for use at Acadia = in Botany class was collected each fall near Truro, Dr. Smith mused that = it would be convenient to have a local source so I acted on this hint, = put some in Tannery Pond, Wolfville and recorded the event by depositing = a sub-sample as an Herbarium specimen. Many plants are getting moved around these days by earth moving = equipment, especially along highways and marshalling yards and = especially plants adapted to disturbed soil, but it would decrease = uncertainty/confusion in future if moves of other plants appreciably = beyond their known range were recorded as an Herbarium specimen.=20 Yours truly, Dave Webster, Kentville =20 =20 =20 ----- Original Message -----=20 From: "Larry Bogan" <larry@bogan.ca> To: <naturens@chebucto.ns.ca> Sent: Saturday, May 16, 2015 10:26 AM Subject: Re: [NatureNS] Bobolink and other > Nick, > Yes, I believe it is C. palustris and was planted by the land owner = along the steam bed north of the Thorpe Rd.
