Few birds in Advocate this weekend. Of note: 100+ savannah sparrows on Back St. ...tried hard to make a couple something note-worthy but no luck lots of yellow rumps singing few palm warblers first hermit thrushes of the year for me several tree swallow and a couple barn swallows 4-6 turkey vultures 30 black scoters in the harbor and a few more at West Advocate lots of coyote sign and large one in the woods this morning spring peepers and wood frogs heard last night kestrel, kingfishers and merlin all sharing the power lines near fire hall in Five Islands greater yellow legs in marsh at Spencers Island pair bluewing teal Apple River marsh all in all a beautiful weekend with close to 50 spp seen.....maybe spring has actually sprung afterall Jeffrey Ogden BSc MSc Forest Health Specialist Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources PO Box 130 Shubenacadie, NS B0N 2H0 902 758 7015 _____________
