While eating lunch I noticed a bunch of warblers = flitting in the nearby trees. So off I went to find birds while Laura = picked blackberries. There were several flocks of itinerant warblers and = vireos with the highlight being a Yellow-throated Vireo. Anthony's = Provincial Park is an oasis of forest in a moonscape of farmland so it = always attracts migrants, although the park is a bit of a drive for most = of us. On the way home I checked out Doyles Lake beside the Old Sambro Road and = I spotted one female Wood Duck. No doubt with some patience the entire = family group could be found. There were lots of peeps at Sandy Cove's = beach but alas the rain was heavy now so there was no chance to = reconnoiter the place. ____________________________________________________________________ Hans Toom Portuguese Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada http://www.hanstoom.com http://www.hanstoom.com/blog ------=_NextPart_000_003C_01CFD5C1.7B00D410 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META name=3DGENERATOR content=3D"MSHTML 8.00.6001.23588"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV style=3D"FONT: 10pt arial">----- Original Message -----=20 <DIV style=3D"BACKGROUND: #e4e4e4; font-color: black"><B>From:</B> <A=20 title=3Dhtoom@hfx.eastlink.ca href=3D"mailto:htoom@hfx.eastlink.ca">Hans = Toom</A>=20 </DIV> <DIV><B>To:</B> <A title=3DNS-RBA@yahoogroups.com=20 href=3D"mailto:NS-RBA@yahoogroups.com">NS-RBA</A> </DIV> <DIV><B>Sent:</B> Sunday, September 21, 2014 5:28 PM</DIV> <DIV><B>Subject:</B> Yellow-throated Vireo</DIV></DIV> <DIV><BR></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial>Laura and I took a Sunday drive along = the Noel=20 Shore, Glooscap Trail, and stopped for our picnic lunch and destination = of the=20 day, Anthony's Provincial Park.
